COVID-19 Test To Release

Reduce your quarantine period following International travel from a non-red-corridor country, by having a COVID PCR test as part of the government’s Test to Release for international travel scheme. Results emailed back either within 24 or 48 hours after your appointment or on the same day, depending on service selected.

Reduce your quarantine period following international travel from a non-red-corridor country, by having a COVID PCR test as part of the government’s Test to Release for international travel scheme. Choose to receive results in either 24 hours or 48 hours of your test or our same day service which is available Monday to Friday on all appointments before 11am.

In accordance with guidelines, you will not be able to take this test until you have been in England for 5 full days following International travel. This scheme is voluntary and applies to those quarantining in England only.  Please note that it is the patient’s responsibility to ensure that they book their Test To Release appointment on the correct date in accordance with the government guidelines.

If you do not want to opt into the Test to Release scheme, you will need to self-isolate for 10 days. You cannot use the Test to Release scheme if you have been in or through any country that is on the travel ban red list in the 10 days before you arrive in England.

If you’re planning to use the Test to Release scheme, you will need to complete a passenger locator form with details of where you will home quarantine when you arrive and include your Test To Release booking reference number, which we will provide you with.

Please bear in mind that if you opt for the Test to Release Scheme, you must still take a test on or before day 2 and on or after day 8 as part of the government’s Testing in Quarantine Package, unless you’re exempt. Even if you get a negative result from your Test to Release and are released from self-isolation, you still need to take a test on or after day 8 as part of this compulsory initiative to check that you do not have COVID-19.

If you are having a PCR test for travel purposes please bear in mind cancellation will only be possible when your travel plans are effected by COVID-19 related government imposed restrictions. In these circumstances we will offer a full refund less £25 per person admin fee on presentation of confirmation from the airline that the flight has been cancelled due to COVID-19 restrictions. This must be received at least 24 hours prior to your appointment time. Please note if you choose to cancel your travel arrangements this refund policy will not apply.

Our centre at JDoc365 in Hayes Crescent also offer a lab based PCR test with results delivered within 48 hours, please click here to book.
Fit to Fly certificates available for purchase at checkout.

A Fit to Fly medical certificate is a GP medical certificate which states that you are well enough to fly. Some countries and airlines are making this mandatory as part of their new COVID-19 immigration processes. For some countries it can also be used to avoid the imposed quarantine rules upon landing. In the context of COVID-19 a GP will need to verify that you are not experiencing any of the common symptoms of COVID-19 in keeping with UK government guidance and that you have a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR test result in order issue a COVID-19 Fit to Fly travel certificate on this basis. Click here to find out more and purchase your Fit to Fly Certificate.

Fit to Fly Certificates are included within your GP consultation at the London General Practice and available to buy below as an add on for JDoc365 appointments.
