This test tells you if you have the COVID-19 virus now, with results delivered in approximately 90 minutes.*

The aim of a COVID Antigen test is to detect the presence of a protein, which is part of the SARS-Cov-2 virus; that is the cause of COVID-19.

Essentially a COVID Antigen test looks for fragments of the SARS-Cov-2 virus in the sample given via a simple nasal swab, to see if the person is infected with the virus.This test is recommended for those who are asymptomatic and looking for fast and reliable results, and is ideal for point of care testing of large numbers of people in the workplace or community.  

One of the main advantages of Antigen tests is that they can produce a result in approximately 90 minutes.* The Antigen testing system we use has been approved for COVID-19 testing by the World Health Organisation and is particularly stable and reliable, producing accurate results with sensitivity of up to 97%. Antigen testing is not as accurate as Lab based PCR testing, which is currently considered the Gold Standard for COVID testing. If you are having a PCR test for travel purposes please bear in mind cancellation will only be possible when your travel plans are effected by COVID-19 related government imposed restrictions. In these circumstances we will offer a full refund less £25 per person admin fee on presentation of confirmation from the airline that the flight has been cancelled due to COVID-19 restrictions. This must be received at least 24 hours prior to your appointment time. Please note if you choose to cancel your travel arrangements this refund policy will not apply.

Fit to Fly certificates available for purchase at checkout.

A Fit to Fly medical certificate is a GP medical certificate which states that you are well enough to fly. Some countries and airlines are making this mandatory as part of their new COVID-19 immigration processes. For some countries it can also be used to avoid the imposed quarantine rules upon landing. In the context of COVID-19 a GP will need to verify that you are not experiencing any of the common symptoms of COVID-19 in keeping with UK government guidance and that you have a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR test result in order issue a COVID-19 Fit to Fly travel certificate on this basis. If you are suffering from any COVID-19 symptoms or have been in contact with anyone who is symptomatic, you can visit the JDoc365 Centre in Hayes Crescent, or opt for our convenient At-Home testing service instead. If you have COVID symptoms and are visiting our centre in Temple Fortune, you must inform the clinic on arrival so that they can test you in your car. If you test positive for the COVID-19 virus, you must self-isolate in accordance with national guidance.
